Lakes Committee

The Lakes Committee serves as a community forum for issues involving the four lakes in Desert Shores: Lake Jacqueline, Lake Sarah, Lake Maddison and Lake Lindsey. The Lakes Committee collects relevant information and assess feasible alternatives, concerning the Lakes, to make recommendations to the Board of Directors.

Boating

Desert Shores has four man made lakes which are open for Desert Shores' Residents to enjoy. All water vessels entering our lakes MUST be registered with the DSCA Administrative Office. Registration form and Guidelines can be downloaded below. To enjoy these amenities, please make sure to have DSCA Membership Credentials at all times, otherwise you may be asked to leave.

Each Lake has a designated Boat Ramp and Dock at the ends of the Lake. Docking is not permitted unless you are docking at your own home and dock.

Boating Hours: Daily Year Round from Dawn until 10:30 PM (provided that said boats meet Nevada Wildlife Department night lighting requirements). 

Cost: $15.00 One-time Registration Fee

  • All private boats must be registered with the DSCA office and owners must provide proof of liability insurance coverage.
  • No gasoline motors allowed.
  • Paddleboards are not allowed.
  • Flotation and other safety devices required.
  • Boats must never be moored to the lake sides or anchored to the bottom.
  • Remote Controlled Sail Boats are Permitted but all other R/C craft are prohibited.

Fishing

Our Lakes are privately owned and stocked with fish by DSCA, every year in the Spring. To enjoy these amenities, please make sure to have your DSCA Membership Credentials at all times, otherwise you may be asked to leave. 

Hours: Daily Year Round from Dawn until Dusk 

  • Catch and Release Only

  • One Pole per person

  • No spears, nets or traps allowed

  • Please remove all used line, gear and trash

  • Use only Non-Barbed hooks

  • No fishing from the Breakwater bridge, underneath that bridge, behind the Lakeside Center or behind any of the lake end wrought iron fencing.

  • State fishing licenses are not required but you must have your DSCA Membership Credentials when fishing. 

  • Residents are allowed up to four (4) guests when fishing.
