Our Story

Mission Statement

The Desert Shores Community Association is a non-profit corporation specifically established by Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions filed on June 1, 1988, in Book 880601 as Document No. 00011, of the Official Records of Clark County, Nevada, for the purpose of operating the business affairs of its homeowners association. This Association has established as its main goals the protection, maintenance and enhancement of the Common Grounds and Property owned in entirety by the Association.

Toward that end, the Association operates by an adopted Non-Discrimination Policy, and does not support, as an entity, any political person, party or faction in any manner. On occasion, the Association, as deemed appropriate by the Board of Directors, may become involved in public policy issues as they pertain to or may effect the property, or value thereof, which is owned and maintained by this Association and/or its Members.

What We Do

The Desert Shores Community Association is governed by a volunteer homeowner Board of Directors, who are elected by their fellow homeowners. We have a Community Relations Committee made up of homeowner volunteers. The management staff is comprised of paid employees who work on-site at the Association Administration office, led by the General Manager. Support staff includes Accounting, Community Relations, Events & Communications, Amenities, and Maintenance.

The Association’s operation is similar to that of a property management company. While we do not maintain any of the individual homes, we do maintain all recreational facilities and commonly-owned landscaped areas. We also enforce the rules and regulations know as the Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions (CC&R’s), publish a newsletter and provide various member services.

Assessments and What They Cover

Income is derived from monthly assessments, which are mandatory upon ownership of property within the community. Desert Shores property owners are members of the Desert Shores Community Association.

Monthly assessments pay for the upkeep and maintenance of all the common areas including our four manmade Lakes, Lagoon Pool & Park areas, Clubhouse, paddle boats and community docks, sign monuments, landscaping and irrigation, fences and walls, as well as funding the office facility and administration, insurance, utilities, and the reserve fund. The reserve fund is maintained for long-term replacement of the Association’s assets.
